Grant is a partner in the Chicago office of Holland & Knight LLP. He is experienced in all aspects of commercial real estate, retail development and financial transactions; including acquisitions, dispositions, commercial leasing, shopping center development, 1031 exchanges, and TIF agreements. He represents financial institutions and borrowers in connection with loan transactions, including negotiation, documentation and enforcement.

Mr. McCorkhill’s recent experience includes:

  • The structuring, negotiation and documentation of the restructuring of the ownership, development, leasing and sale of seven (7) branch bank facilities for a nationally recognized lender in the Chicago, Illinois metropolitan area; including lease negotiation, lease terminations, acquisitions, exchanges and the negotiation of a series of related acquisition and construction loans.

  • The acquisition, redevelopment and leasing a new shopping center development on the south side of Chicago, including a Walgreens store, utilizing TIF funds.

  • The redevelopment and conversion of an office building on Michigan Avenue in Chicago into a hotel, including negotiation of the construction loan, TIF funding, Historic Tax Credit sale financing, as well as joint venture documentation; the development of several shopping centers in the Chicago area.

  • The structuring, negotiation and documentation for a joint venture for a major new class A skyscraper in Chicago.

  • The negotiation of a fifty million dollar construction loan on behalf of a Chicago bank.

Mr. McCorkhill is a member of the Chicago Bar Association (Sections on Banking and Real Estate Law) and the Illinois State and American Bar Associations. He is admitted to the Illinois bar and the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois.
