Understanding the unique needs of retailers and then satisfying those needs comes second nature to Joe.
A veteran of Chicago’s advertising industry and a former principal of a Chicago ad agency, Joe has brought a wealth of strategic brand development knowledge as well as customer acquisition and retention experience to Preferred Development. He has worked with many well-known national companies including Kemper Insurance, CNA, CareerBuilder, CellularOne (Cingular/AT&T), Sauder Furniture and other financial, retail and consumer services companies.
At Preferred, Joe heads the company’s multi-tenant retail leasing; working with outside brokers and tenant reps as well as directly with end users. Whether he’s working with large national retailers or local mom & pops, Joe provides strategic vision, creativity, and outstanding follow-through and easily gains tenant’s trust and confidence… qualities that help to differentiate Preferred Development in the marketplace.
In addition, he oversees Preferred’s long-term marketing initiatives and has helped to re-brand the company and position it for more significant growth opportunities in the future.
Joe received a BA in Journalism from the University of Iowa in 1985. He is a licensed real estate agent, a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and a board member of Children’s Memorial Hospital Corporate Champions. He is an avid skier, cyclist and sometimes golfer.
Joe, his wife Marcy and sons Jake and Jeremy reside in Highland Park, Illinois.
