Tom joined Preferred Development in 1998 to head the company’s Midwest developments. Prior to joining Preferred, Tom was employed by Centrum Properties in Chicago and has been in the real estate business since 1991. During his career, he has developed, built and sold over 1,000,000 square feet of investment-grade retail properties.
At Preferred, Tom is responsible for the financing of all projects as well as coordinating the team efforts of the in-house project managers and engineers who orchestrate all ground-up development. Currently, Tom is accountable for approximately 20 new retail and mixed-use projects.
A graduate of the State University of New York at Geneseo, Tom received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a post-graduate degree from the famed Masters program in Real Estate and Construction Management at the University of Denver. He is currently a member of the Urban Land Institute and International Council of Shopping Centers.
Tom and his wife Suzie live in Glencoe, IL with their twin boys Sam & Ben and their daughter Maria. Tom and his wife are actively involved in several charities and donate their time and resources towards a cure for Autism.
